A couple dozen supporters of Jack Yantis, a Council rancher who was shot fatally by deputies, stood outside the Ada County Courthouse Saturday and called for the release of more information from police.

“I’m here because the shooting in Council is too close to home,” said Matthew Townsend, of Meridian. He pushed that the body camera footage was crucial to understanding the case. “Nobody here’s satisfied yet.”

Protesters said they’ve received positive feedback, and plan to protest on a regular basis. The next Justice for Jack rally will be at 12 p.m. Dec. 12 in front of the Ada County Courthouse.
