The extension of Warm Springs Avenue between ParkCenter Boulevard and Warm Springs Creek has been in the plan for the Harris Ranch neighborhood for a decade.
On Friday, it officially opened.
The road shifts Harris Ranch’s main traffic flow away from the center of the neighborhood’s residential development. Instead of jogging east from the point where Warm Springs meets ParkCenter Boulevard just east of the Boise River, the bypass continues south on what’s traditionally been South Wise Way, then curves around to the east a few feet north of the Boise Greenbelt. Just before coming to Warm Springs Creek, the bypass turns northeast. It continues in that direction until it ties back into the main road east of Barnside Way.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the bypass was held at 4 p.m. Friday near Boise Fire State No. 15.
