It’s the sort of news that warms a baker’s heart (and those of us who love creative fresh-out-of-the-oven baked goods).

Boise’s Guru Donuts made a national “best” list that will surely drive more traffic to the already-popular Downtown doughtnut shop.

Guru Donuts at 204 N. Capitol Boulevard was listed as Idaho’s best “donut shop” in a list published this week by HuffingtonPost.com. The list was actually compiled by Thrillist.com, and that’s where you can view the full list.

Guru’s October offerings include: The Charlie Brown (a pumpkin donut with a zigzag of root beer glaze) and The Cinderella, a pumpkin pie-filled bismark dusted with crunchy pie crumb.

Guru won “best donuts” in the Best of Treasure Valley this year.

In Oregon, Voodoo may be popular with tourists, but Blue Star Donuts topped Thrillist’s list.
