Four apartments damaged as fire ignites at complex near Timberline High
Three apartments sustained fire damage and another received smoke damage in a blaze Tuesday night near Timberline High School, a city of Boise spokesperson said.
At least 19 units initially responded to the fire in the 500 block of East Old Saybrook Lane, which is a two-story, six-unit apartment complex adjacent to Timberline. The fire was reported at 9:22 p.m.
Gas and power crews were also dispatched to the location, but have since been cleared, according to PulsePoint.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation, spokesperson Haley Williams told the Idaho Statesman by email.
“The whole building was on fire, and there was nothing anyone could do,” Mohamad Sahed, a neighbor who witnessed the fire, told an Idaho Statesman reporter on scene. “So I called 911, and they came really fast.”
Williams said visible heavy smoke en route to the scene prompted an “upgrade to full assignment,” which included seven fire engines, two ladder trucks, a battalion chief, Ada County Paramedics, a safety officer, a fire investigator and rehab and logistics support.
The Boise Fire Burnout Fund is assisting displaced residents.
