Another building with DHS, ICE offices vandalized — this time in Boise
Three days after someone stole an ambulance at St. Luke’s in Meridian and crashed it into an office building where the Department of Homeland Security leased space, a building with DHS offices in Boise was vandalized.
The Boise Police Department said in a news release that officers went to an address in the 1100 block of South Vinnell Way at around 7:25 a.m. Saturday and found broken windows and spray-paint damage.
No suspects are in custody.
The building was not occupied at the time, but it is being rented by Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to the release.
South Vinnell Way is located just off of Overland Road near Interstate 84 and the Flying Wye.
The Boise release said detectives are investigating and “coordinating with partner agencies,” and it also indicated that it was unknown whether this incident was directly related to the Meridian crime. In that instance, police found gasoline cans and accelerant, saying the suspect(s) intended to light the building on fire.
No one has been apprehended in the Meridian incident.
Boise police asked anyone with information, as well as businesses and residents that might have surveillance footage, to contact Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790.
Police also said there would be extra patrols in that area.
