Update: The Boise Police Department sent out an update at about 1:20 p.m. stating Abraham was found and is safe.

Original story:

The Boise Police Department is asking for the public’s help finding an 11-year-old who went missing Friday morning.

The boy, named Abraham, was last seen walking west near Bannock Street and Fort Street downtown, according to a BPD Facebook post. Abraham is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-3 and about 105 pounds. He has black hair and was last seen wearing sweatpants with a Spider-Man sweatshirt.

Boise police and his family have been searching for Abraham, and they ask anyone with information to call the dispatch center at 208-377-6790.

Some people in that Boise area might have received a blank alert from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office’s CodeRed community alert system. The alert was supposed to notify the public about Abraham, but a technical issue with the system caused a blank message to be sent to approximately 9,000 subscribers, according to a social media post from the agency.
