An Eagle Hills employee is no longer with the West Ada School District after they allegedly shared a “concerning” video on social media.

Law enforcement said a review of the video found that it was not a threat to public safety.

Eagle Hills Elementary School Principal Curtis Anderson emailed parents Wednesday explaining that officials had been informed that a social media account connected to an employee shared the video.

“The employee’s social media profile included a concerning video, which was promptly reported to law enforcement,” Anderson said.

But Ada County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lauren Montague told the Idaho Statesman by email that the Eagle Police Department — Eagle contracts its law enforcement with the Sheriff’s Office — investigated and “determined there is no crime and no public safety threat.”

A citizen reported the video to police, according to Montague.

Montague said the video shared by the employee was 15 years old and did not contain any child sexual exploitative material. She said it had some general violent language, but no direct threats.

Eagle Hills Elementary did not answer the Statesman’s questions, directing inquiries to the school district. West Ada would not answer questions about the incident, saying it was a personnel matter.

In his email, Anderson said that the employee was posting through a social media account created under a different name.

“The employee met with Human Resources and is no longer with the district or affiliated with Eagle Hills Elementary School,” Anderson said.

The district did not respond to the Statesman’s question as to whether the employee was fired.

“I sincerely apologize for this oversight,” Anderson said in the email to parents. “I welcome any questions you may have about this matter and appreciate your discretion as Human Resources concludes their investigation.”

Anderson said the school, located at 650 E. Ranch Drive in Eagle, was working to fill the position quickly.
