The Ada County Coroner’s Office identified 16-year-old Abdullah Hraidin as the youth killed in a Thursday motorcycle crash in Boise.

Hraidin, who lived in Boise, was driving “at a very high” speed west on Fairview Avenue, Boise police said in a news release. A truck driver was heading east on Fairview and turning north onto Mitchell Street when the two collided in the intersection, according to law enforcement.

Hraidin died at the scene, according to police and the coroner. His manner of death was listed as an accident.

In an email to staff and families Friday, the Boise School District said Hraidin was a student and attended both Capital High School and Dennis Technical Education Center. The district’s crisis response team has been working with his family and classmates “to provide support during this incredibly difficult time,” according to the email.

“Please hold space for one another and keep Abdullah’s loved ones in your thoughts,” the email read. It was signed by Boise School District administration.

Police said the truck driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries that didn’t appear to be life-threatening.

The intersection was closed for several hours.
