The Ada County Coroner’s Office has identified the Boise teenager who died in a car accident Friday.

Ethan Lamers died at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise from blunt force injuries around 7:40 a.m. Friday, the Coroner’s Office said in a news release. He was 17.

Lamers and an 18-year-old passenger were transported to the hospital after Lamers lost control of his Audi S3 on a curve and the vehicle rolled over near the 7700 block of Cartwright Road, which is about 3 miles north of the Hillside to Hollow Reserve, just after midnight Friday, according to the Coroner’s Office and the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies received the call about the crash, they were told that both of the teenagers had been removed from the car and the vehicle was on fire, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Alcohol wasn’t a factor in the crash, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash is under investigation by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office crash reconstruction unit.
