As of 1 p.m. Saturday, power had been restored after an outage that affected thousands of people from East Boise to Idaho City. The outage began shortly before 7:30 a.m. Saturday when a goose flew into a power line.

There were 3,481 customers affected by the outage, according to Idaho Power’s online outage map.

Maria Willacy, an Idaho Power media specialist, urged people in the area to avoid downed power lines.

“We always encourage safety first, and stay far back,” she told the Idaho Statesman.
