Two women walked away from South Boise corrections center. One is still at-large

Two women left a Boise corrections facility on Sunday evening and one is still missing. Officials are seeking the public’s help in finding her.

Elida Jacuinde, 26, and Elaine Martin, 22, walked away from the South Boise Women’s Correctional Center after they were last seen at 7:03 p.m. spending time outside near a gardening area, according to an Idaho Department of Correction news release.

Deputies with the Idaho State Police and the Ada County Sheriff’s Office found Jacuinde at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, the release said.

A security camera captured an image of Martin walking near South Cloverdale and Hubbard roads at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Authorities asked people who live in the area to check their security cameras for images.

Martin is 5 feet, 6 inches and weighs 230 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair, according to the department. She was last seen wearing blue scrubs.

Court records show both were convicted in Twin Falls County for possession of a controlled substance. Martin also was convicted of burglary and causing injury to a jail facility.

The South Boise Women’s Correctional Center is a minimum-custody, 306-bed treatment and transition facility, according to IDOC public information officer Sanda Kuzeta-Cerimagic. The facility is classified as nonsecure because it does not have perimeter fencing.

The majority of the residents there are on retained jurisdiction and usually stay at the facility for eight to 10 months, according to Kuzeta-Cerimagic.

Anyone with information about Martin is urged to call 911, IDOC said.
