One person killed, another flown to hospital after three vehicles catch fire in crash
A crash in Boise County left one person dead and another hospitalized.
A 77-year-old Nampa man was driving a truck towing a camp trailer and an ATV trailer north on Idaho 21 at about 3:56 p.m. Tuesday when he drove off the right shoulder, according to an Idaho State Police news release.
The truck then hit a tree, causing the truck, trailer, and ATV to catch fire.
Police said first responders removed the man from the truck, but he died from his injuries at the scene.
His passenger, a 77-year-old woman from Nampa, was flown by air ambulance to a local hospital.
Both people involved were wearing seat belts, according to police.
Police blocked both lanes of the highway for about four hours near Milepost 94 to allow emergency responders to work and then to clear the scene. State police were investigating.
