BLM crews responding to wildfire of more than 80 acres south of the Boise Airport
Several agencies are responding to a fire that is burning more than 80 acres south of the Boise Airport.
The Bureau of Land Management’s Boise district, according to a Twitter post, is responding to the Southtom Fire, which is 12 miles south of the airport. The agency is using three overheads, three engines, a water tender, a dozer, two single-engine air tankers, an air attack and a large air tanker, according to the BLM post.
The Idaho Statesman has reached out to the department for additional information.
An over-40-acre fire delayed travelers headed toward McCall over the weekend near Horseshoe Bend after Idaho 55 was temporarily closed. The Hulls Fire burned north of 8th Street over the weekend in the Boise Foothills, temporarily closing 4,500 acres of land.
