Coroner identifies Boise motorcycle driver who died in Meridian cement truck collision

The man involved in a fatal cement truck collision last week has been identified.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office said Wednesday that Matthew Willett, 41, from Boise was the motorcycle driver who crashed head-on at a high speed with a cement truck at about 2:50 p.m. Friday.

Willett was pronounced dead at 4:38 p.m. at the scene of the crash, which happened on West Amity Road just east of South Linder Road in Meridian. The coroner’s report listed the cause of death as “multiple blunt force injuries” and the manner of death as accidental.

The cement truck driver was uninjured, according to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.

Initial reports indicated that the motorcycle caught fire underneath the cement truck, according to a tweet from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.

The Ada County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
