Boise school bus hit by vehicle along Maple Grove Road. Injuries were minor, police say
At 3:19 p.m on Tuesday, Boise police and paramedics responded to a collision near the 42nd block of N. Maple Grove Road after a school bus carrying students was hit by another vehicle.
Edward Flavin, the spokesperson for the bus company, confirmed the crash with the Idaho Statesman.
“Another vehicle veered into our bus,” he said in an email. “The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital. In addition, no injuries were sustained by our driver or our monitor.”
The vehicles were later towed from the scene, he said.
Haley Williams, spokesperson for the Boise Police Department, said the driver of the vehicle was cited for inattentive driving after crashing into the bus. The driver had minor injuries, she said.
Many parents picked up their children at the scene and a different bus took the remaining children home, Williams told the Statesman.
One child on the bus reported minor injuries but did not need to be taken to the hospital, Williams said.
