Boise police arrest 2 men, use stun gun on one, as part of stalking investigation
An investigation into alleged domestic battery and attempted strangulation led to the arrests of two men Wednesday morning, the Boise Police Department said.
Police said in a news release that officers from the Neighborhood Contact Unit monitored the 900 block of E. Parkcenter Blvd. at around 9:45 a.m. over concerns that a suspect was stalking a victim. They said they located the 38-year-old suspect in a vehicle that was driven by 32-year-old man.
“Information previously indicated that (the suspected stalker) was likely armed,” according to the release. “Officers took extra precautions to safely make contact with the suspects.”
Officers had to use a stun gun on the suspected stalker because he resisted arrest, the release said.
The men are facing felony charges for possession of weapons because both are convicted felons, according to the release. The suspected stalker also has three other felony charges: stalking in the first degree, possession of a controlled substance and destruction of evidence. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office website shows he faces misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing officers and possession of drugs with intent to use.
The man who was driving the vehicle faces a felony criminal conspiracy charge.
Both men were still in the Ada County Jail on Wednesday evening, according to online jail records.
Boise police said a domestic violence investigation is ongoing.
