Swimmer dies after being pulled from Quinn’s Pond in Boise, taken to hospital

A man was taken to a local hospital after being pulled from Boise’s Quinn’s Pond on Monday afternoon, but he did not survive, according to law enforcement.

Bystanders noticed a swimmer was “unresponsive” in the water on and pulled him ashore to begin attempting life-saving measures, according to a news release sent Tuesday by the Boise Police Department.

Members of the Boise Fire Department and Ada County Paramedics also responded to the incident, and transported the swimmer to St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office revealed in a Tuesday afternoon press release that the swimmer was 61-year-old Stanley Creech II from Hayward, California. His manner and cause of death is still pending, according to the coroner’s office.

The Boise Police Department is investigating the cause of death. Police said the victim “may have suffered a cardiac-related medical issue” and said there were no signs of foul play.
