In honor of Judy Garland’s one hundredth birthday this month, the Regal Edwards Boise movie theater is playing “The Wizard of Oz.” In it, Garland sings her famous rendition of “Over the Rainbow.”

The song may have been on the minds of people in Boise for a different reason on Sunday.

The Treasure Valley saw weather wild enough to worry any local wicked witch. But by early evening, the clouds had parted and a rainbow appeared over the city.

Storms with winds of up to 60 miles per hour worked their way across the southeast Oregon and Nevada border to Idaho, according to the National Weather Service.

People reported hail across the Treasure Valley. The National Weather Service said Elmore County saw one inch of hailstones.

Heavy rain in resulted in some flooding.

The National Weather Service warned that strong storms could continue on north of Mountain home and near Bruneau.
