Easter Sunday is almost here, and the Easter Bunny will be visiting children around the Treasure Valley all weekend.
Below is a collection of events from Friday through Sunday compiled by the Idaho Statesman. They are free unless otherwise noted.
Boise
Cole Community Church Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 16 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Address: 8775 W. Ustick Road
Cole Community Church, a nondenominational church in the West Bench neighborhood, is hosting an Easter egg hunt for families with elementary school-age children on Saturday. The hunt will take place at the church, and volunteers will be serving grilled hot dogs for lunch.
There also will be a bouncy house for children, and the church is asking for volunteers to help grill food, set up tables and chairs, supervise children and help stuff plastic eggs with candy.

Tree City Church Easter 5K & Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Address: 3852 N. Eagle Road
Tree City Church is hosting an Easter egg hunt and a 5K run or 3K walk at its Boise campus. The church is part of the Church of the Nazarene.
The event starts with the 5K run and the 3K walk at 11 a.m. Registration is required and costs $10 for ages 10 and up, $5 for ages 5 to 9, and free to those 4 and younger, and to volunteers.
The Easter egg hunt is for children in 4th grade or younger, and it begins at noon. The church is also hosting a block party alongside the hunt, with food trucks, inflatables, games and a double-decker espresso bus from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Discovery Church Boise Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday, April 17 from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: 1177 N. Roosevelt St.
In the Central Rim neighborhood just south of Garden City, Discovery Church Boise is hosting an Easter event at the church’s playground following service. Discovery is a nondenominational church.
The church is releasing kids on their hunts in waves, starting with ages 1 to 3 at 12:30 p.m., 4 to 7 at 12:40 p.m., and 8 to 12 at 12:50 p.m.
The church asks that people bring their own baskets.
Nampa
Nampa Parks and Recreation Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt
Friday, April 15 from 9 p.m. - onward
Location: 131 Constitution Way
Nampa Parks and Recreation is hosting a nighttime Easter egg hunt on Friday for ages 13 to 17 at Harward Recreation Center Park. This is specially designed for teenagers and will have them searching for eggs throughout the park in the dark using a flashlight.
Participants are required to bring their own flashlights. The hunt starts at 9 p.m. and costs $3 per person.
Meridian
Compass Bible Church Eggstravaganza
Saturday, April 16 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Location: 1870 E. Heritage Park St.
Compass Bible Church, a nondenominational church, is hosting a two-hour event on Saturday at the church’s Treasure Valley location.
According to the church’s website, the event will feature food trucks, inflatables, egg hunts, a petting zoo, and a music team performing children’s worship.
Verona Area Chamber of Commerce Egg-Stravaganza Spring Festival
Saturday, April 16 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Location: 3064 W. Malta Drive
The Verona Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting an entire morning of activities at Heroes Park.
From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., children will be able to meet and take pictures with the Easter Bunny before embarking on an egg hunt from 10 a.m. to 10:30. After the hunt, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, there will be face painting, a petting zoo, and events such as egg racing and sack racing.
Registration is required for the egg hunt but is free for all ages.
The Chamber of Commerce is also allowing adults to sponsor crafts and games. Sponsors will be able to display their logo on shirts and tables, and hand out leaflets while hosting an activity or game. Potential sponsors can sign up online for free.
Star
Star Chamber of Commerce Easter Eggstravaganza
Saturday, April 16 from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Location: 1500 N. Star Road
The Star Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free hunt at Hunter’s Creek Sports Park. The event also will feature large-scale inflatables and face painting.
Caldwell
Indian Creek Plaza Spring Eggstravaganza
Saturday, April 16 from 11 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Location: 913 Arthur St.
Downtown Caldwell will have activities for all ages on Saturday at Caldwell Luxe Reel Theatre and the Indian Creek Plaza.
Throughout the day, over 20,000 eggs will be hidden throughout the Luxe Theatre for children up to the age of 10. Children 3 and younger will begin the hunt at 11 a.m., ages 4 to 6 at noon, and ages 7 to 10 at 1 p.m. A final egg hunt will be hosted at 2 p.m. for children with physical, cognitive and visual impairments.
Between 11 a.m. and noon, children 5 and younger can register in Idaho’s Cutest Chick Contest. Children can wear a chicken-themed costume that will be judged on originality, detail and completeness, according to Indian Creek Plaza’s website. The winner will be announced at 12:30 p.m.
From 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., visitors will also have the opportunity to take a picture with the Easter Bunny on Arthur Street, which is on the south side of the plaza.
The spring market will be available for adults, providing over 25 different stalls of local food items, as well as handcrafted arts and crafts. The University of Idaho Master Gardener Program will be on hand to answer any gardening questions.
