Update: Boise 16-year-old girl who went missing has been located, is safe, police say
The 16-year-old Boise girl who went missing over the weekend has been found and is safe, police say.
A search for Caylee began Saturday night, and the Boise Police Department tweeted just before 6 p.m. Tuesday that she was located.
Investigators believed Caylee was “an endangered runaway,” according to BPD social media posts.
Caylee had previously been seen last at Borah Park in Boise about 6 p.m. Saturday, Boise Police tweeted Saturday. On Monday, the police department tweeted “it’s possible she is carrying a blue, white, and black, marble pattern backpack.” At that time, BPD was still searching for Caylee.
Spokesperson Haley Williams wrote in an email that police generally don’t release the last names of missing children unless it’s believed it could help with the search.
