Boise house fire displaces mother, 3 kids early Wednesday, authorities say

Boise Fire Department crews responded early Wednesday to a house fire on Fairview Avenue that displaced a mother and her three children.

The 1 a.m. fire happened in the 6700 block of Fairview Avenue, according to Boise Fire. The home caught fire after smoking materials were improperly discarded on the front porch, officials said.

A nearby home was also damaged in the fire, but the extent was not immediately clear. The Boise Burnout Fund is assisting the displaced family with shelter, according to a BFD Tweet.
