James Leland Smith, 60, was identified as the man found dead Sunday on a canal bank under the Broadway Avenue overpass in Boise, the Ada County coroner said in a press release.
Smith had no fixed address, the coroner said.
Just before 4 p.m. Sunday, a passerby notified authorities of a body near South Broadway Avenue and South Federal Way, Boise police said. The body was under the bridge on the north side canal bank.
There was no sign of foul play, and an autopsy revealed no obvious fatal injuries, the coroner said. Smith’s cause of death is still under investigation, pending the results of toxicology tests.
