Dog dies in North End fire Thursday night
Firefighters with the Boise Fire Department were able to rescue one small dog from a burning home, but a second one died at the scene.
Four engines, two fire trucks and two battalion chiefs responded to the home in the 1800 block of North 30th Street at 10:21 p.m.
Smoke was coming out from the attic when crews arrived.
Damage was confined to one room and a portion of th attic. The cause is under investigation.
No one was at home at the time of the fire. Firefighters reunited the owners with the dog that survived.
Firefighters Local 149 Burnout Fund assisted the family with its immediate needs.
