A 61-year-old Boise man who was reported missing last month has been found dead in his car in circumstances police call suspicious.
Mark Irwin was positively identified by forensic testing, the Ada County coroner announced Thursday afternoon, moments before Boise police sent out a news release asking the public for information about Irwin's disappearance.
A police spokeswoman would not say when the body was found or where in the Foothills the car was located. But the coroner's office listed Aug. 26 as the date the body, as yet unidentified, was pronounced dead, and said the car was found near Ada County's boundary with Boise County.
Police stressed that the investigation is continuing, and both police and the coroner's office said no additional information is expected to be released this week.
