Woman robbed at gunpoint early Sunday in Meridian

An adult woman was walking westbound near Lake Hazel and Locust Grove roads around 6:30 a.m. Sunday when she was robbed at gunpoint, according to a Meridian Police Department press release.

The woman said a green SUV stopped behind her as she walked. She told police that a man wearing a bandana over his face displayed a firearm and demanded all of her personal items, according to the release. Police say the suspect then drove west on Lake Hazel Road in his vehicle.

The victim suffered minor injuries, MPD said.
