A 28-year-old Nampa man died after being stabbed at a restaurant in the 2500 block of Caldwell Boulevard around 2 a.m. Sunday, according to a Nampa Police Department press release.

Officials said the stabbing occurred during a physical altercation between a former employee and a current employee in the work area of the restaurant. One man, who police did not identify, was transported to the hospital with a severe stab wound to the abdomen. He later died from the injury.

The other man, also a 28-year-old Nampa resident, left the restaurant before police arrived and was later located in the 16000 block of Blue Spruce in the Evergreen trailer park, according to the release. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for lacerations to his hands and was later released, police said.

“This fight appears to be over a personal issue between these two parties,” Lt. Eric Skoglund said. “Investigators who responded are continuing to search for evidence and information which led to this violent encounter.”

No arrests have been made as NPD investigates the incident. Anyone with more information is urged to call NPD at 465-2257 or Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS.
