Bureau of Land Management firefighters were working on a 10-15 acre wildfire near the Swan Falls Dam Saturday afternoon, according to spokesman Rob Hansen.
The Swan Fire, as it’s being called, is burning along the rim of the canyon near the river, Hansen said. Due to the location, there’s no threat to structures, and no injuries have been reported, he said.
The BLM is expecting to have the fire contained by about 10 p.m. Saturday and have it controlled by Sunday, Hansen added. Thanks to cooler weather conditions, the fire is not spreading rapidly despite moderate winds.
Four engines, eight smokejumpers, one dozer, one water tender and an air attack are all part of the response team fighting the fire.
Hansen said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
