Nampa woman arrested in domestic violence stabbing
Virginia Goodson, 55, of Nampa has been arrested on a charge of aggravated battery in connection with a stabbing reported early Saturday, Nampa Police Department said in a statement.
According to NPD, a 56-year-old man came into the department around 6:20 a.m. and said he had been stabbed at his residence in the 100 block of 21st Avenue South. Goodson was detained at the residence when officers responded and is being held in Canyon County Jail.
Police said the victim was taken to a local hospital and is being treated for his injuries, which do not appear to be life-threatening.
Goodson and the stabbing victim were in a domestic relationship, NPD reported. They urged residents to ask law enforcement for assistance in instances of domestic violence.
“Domestic violence situationscan be very volatile. We ask the public to contact us when issues occur so we can intervene before a situation rises to this level,” said Sergeant Donald Peck of NPD. “Violence in a home is not something which should be tolerated and law enforcement is here to help keep everyone safe.”
