ValleyRide holds public meetings on proposed bus service changes for Ada, Canyon counties

The proposal includes three changes to the Nampa/Caldwell fixed route service, two changes to inter-county service between Ada and Canyon counties, along with minor changes to three Boise routes — Route 10 (Hill Road/Maple Grove), Route 16 (VA shuttle) and Route 17 (Warm Springs).

The proposed changes are to improve on-time performance, maximize existing transit resource and accommodate growth near the existing service areas.

Any changes to existing ValleyRide bus service would be implemented in August 2016.

ValleyRide is holding two public meetings on the proposed changes:

▪  Wednesday, March 2, at the Nampa Public Library, meeting room A, 212 12th Ave. South.

▪  Thursday, March 3, in Boise at U.S. Bank Plaza, second-floor conference room, 101 S. Capitol Blvd.

Each meeting features an open house with information about the proposed changes followed by a public hearing.

The open house starts at 3:30 p.m. with the public hearing starting about 6 p.m.

The public can also review and comment on the proposed changes online.

The deadline for providing comment is Sunday, March 13.

Police have arrested four refugees from Tanzania for the alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman in a car in Kuna. She told police she was with one of the teens in a car when the other three suspects arrived.
