Meridian community praises former superintendent’s career at retirement party
Hundreds of people turned out Saturday to give former West Ada School District superintendent Linda Clark a hug and thank her for her 37 years of service in the district.
Clark left the district in October after 11 years as superintendent.
“I want to support her,” said Cindy Clark, a former principal at Hunter Elementary School. “I have always respected her.”
Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd credited Clark’s leadership with helping Meridian grow. “They want to be a part of the excitement that is happening in our classes, in our schools, and in our school district.”
Clark’s retirement party was put on by long-time friend and West Ada teacher Corlyss Peterson and several other educators who raised the money for the celebration.
