The Idaho Transportation Department is replacing the Broadway Avenue Bridge and improving the roadway between University Drive and Front Street.

The bridge closed Monday. Broadway Avenue is closed from Cesar Chavez Lane to Myrtle Street.

The Idaho Transportation Department is rerouting motorists to the Parkcenter Bridge until fall 2016, when the new bridge is expected to open.

Greenbelt users will also be rerouted, with detours marked. The Greenbelt detour north of the Boise River will have a dedicated lane on Myrtle Street near Julia Davis Park. Bicycles and cars will share the lane on the Greenbelt detour south of the river.

Crews will be working 24/7. Businesses in the area will remain open.
