Avalanche-prone section of Idaho 21 closed; rock slides overnight in Boise County
Idaho Highway 21 was closed Monday between Grandjean Junction and Banner Summit — 23 to 35 miles south of Stanley — due to high risk of avalanche, according to the Idaho Transportation Department.
An emergency dispatcher in Boise County said Tuesday morning that the highway remains closed.
Heavy rain caused rock slides in another section of the county overnight. Transportation department crews were called out to clear large boulders on Idaho 21 near Wilderness Ranch.
