The 41-year-old Boise driver of a minivan who struck a young bicyclist in September has been cited with misdemeanor inattentive driving, Boise police reported late Monday afternoon..

Charges were filed last week against Scholastique Twagirayesu, online court records show. No arraignment date has been set.

Max Wyatt, 5, was dragged under the minivan and suffered critical injuries in the Sept. 23 crash, which occurred at the intersection of Kootenai and Owyhee streets.

Max was discharged last Tuesday from the burn unit at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City and has been continuing physical therapy in Utah, but is expected to return to Boise with his family around the middle of this week, according to a message posted by his mother on a GoFundMe page. The account has raised nearly $91,000 toward a $100,000 goal.
