Police: Boise man dies after crash involving two motorcycles

A Boise man died after a two-motorcycle crash on Interstate 84 near Caldwell Saturday morning, according to Idaho State Police.

The crash was called in around 10 p.m. Friday night. Rodney Cummings, 47, of Caldwell, was stopped at a stop sign on the Exit 27 ramp off of I-84 on his 2006 Harley Davidson when Charles Nate, 39, of Boise, driving a 2008 Yamaha hit the back of the Harley Davidson, police said.

Both men were transported to the hospital, and Nate died around 6:30 a.m. Saturday. It’s unclear whether the men were wearing helmets, police said.

The on and off ramps were shut down for almost five hours while crews cleared the scene, police said.
