Fourth of July in Boise: Your guide to America 250 parade, fireworks and more
2026’s Fourth of July festivities are filled with extra excitement as the United States celebrates 250 years of history.
Patriotic activities will paint Boise red, white and blue as the City of Trees marks the occasion with a parade, music and, of course, fireworks.
Here’s what to know about Fourth of July events in Boise:
When does the Idaho America 250 Parade start in Boise?
Before the Idaho America 250 Parade starts on Saturday, July 4, enjoy breakfast at Cecil D. Andrus Park at the front lawn of the state’s capitol building.
The Veteran Entrepreneurial Alliance Community Breakfast begins at 7 a.m., with pancakes served until 10 a.m at 601 West Jefferson St.
A patriotic pet party and parade, hosted by local gardening and lawn company Zamzows, begins at 9 a.m. in Julia Davis Park at the Boise Art Museum at 670 Julia Davis Drive.
The Fourth of July parade will start near the Morrison Center on Capitol Boulevard and will begin marching towards the Idaho Capitol building at 10 a.m.
The festivities don’t end with the parade.
“Continue the celebration as we gather in the park for music, games and food,” the America 250 in Idaho website said.
Local food and beverage trucks will be available at Cecil Andrus Park, along with vendor booths, interactive, hands-on activities for kids and a close-up display of the Fourth of July parade floats.
Inside the statehouse rotunda, there will be “tours and displays that bring Idaho’s distinct flair,” organizers said.
The Idaho A250 Capitol Celebration will also feature live music on the Capitol steps from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Idaho’s 25th Army Band lead the concert line up, followed by Chad Marvin and Ellimae at noon.
Next up is Jeff Crosby at 12:30 p.m., followed by the Afrosonics at 1:30 p.m. and Josh Ritters at 2:15 p.m
Where is 2026 Fourth of July event in downtown Boise?
The city of Boise is hosting what it’s calling an “America 250 fireworks spectacular” at Ann Morrison Park on Saturday, July 4.
According to the city’s website, the park at 1000 South Americana Blvd. will be closed to general parking all day on Saturday.
Together Treasure Valley Dog Island and the disc golf course will be closed as well to accommodate the large crowd expected to attend the event.
“This is a special annual event, and because we’re celebrating America 250 it’ll be even more memorable this year,” Boise Mayor Lauren McLean said in a June 23 news release. “I invite you to bring a blanket and some chairs and enjoy the holiday safely while celebrating with friends, neighbors and fellow community members in the heart of our city.”
The city encouraged residents to walk, ride-share, bike and park their vehicles in downtown Boise to get to the fireworks display.
Attendees can expect a performance by the Boise Philharmonic, a drone light show and a fireworks display, “creating an unforgettable evening honoring 250 years of American history and celebrating America’s future,” the release said.

What’s in store at America 250 celebration in Boise?
Fourth of July festivities at Ann Morrison Park begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.
The Ann Morrison Park Fountain will be transformed into a red, white and blue splash pad to celebrate the occasion, so wear a swimsuit if you want the perfect patriotic way to cool off on Saturday.
Food and drink vendors are expected to open around 6 p.m., including Idaho spud croquetas from Basque Bites, refreshingly cool treats from Tiki’s Shave Ice and Scotty’s Hot Dogs..
The Boise Philharmonic concert starts at 9 p.m. in the mall lawn near the Americana Boulevard entrance to the park.
The patriotic drone light show begins at 10 p.m. above Together Treasure Valley Dog Island. It is best viewed from the mall lawn.
“While the drones may be visible from Crescent Rim, drone formations and text elements will appear reversed,” the city of Boise said on its website.
When does July 4 fireworks show begin at Ann Morrison Park?
The fireworks spectacular will launch from the soccer field at approximately 10:30 p.m., “conditions permitting,” the city said.
The pyrotechnic display is expected to last for 20 minutes.
“Tune in to 107.1 Hank FM to listen to the show’s synced soundtrack live,” the city said.
Which Boise roads are closing for Fourth of July?
Americana Boulevard will be closed all day in preparation for the Fourth of July fireworks show, according to the city.
Crescent Rim Drive will see partial closures from Latah Street to Eastover Terrace with no public access after 6 p.m., and the Boise River float shuttle will end at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Residents with parking passes will be permitted to use Crescent Rim Drive until 9 p.m.
Police will reopen all roads at 11 p.m., once pedestrians have fully exited the park.
Where else can I watch fireworks on Independence Day?
Several cities across the Treasure Valley will also be hosting firework displays on Saturday, July 4, to celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th birthday.
The city of Caldwell’s fireworks show will commence at dusk at Brothers Athletic Park at 3719 South Indiana Ave.
Storey Park, 205 East Franklin Drive in Meridian, “comes alive with our biggest and brightest fireworks show yet” as the sun sets on Saturday, organizers said.
“At 10:15 p.m., get ready for the biggest fireworks show Star has ever hosted,” the city of Star said on its website.

The city of Kuna will host its 4th of July Celebration at Fisher Park at 201 West Main St. from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, ending with a fireworks show.
