Boise hotel ranked among the world’s best. What makes it a top place to stay?

Looking for a place to stay in Boise? One local hotel is among the best in the world, according to Condé Nast Traveler.

The publication recently announced the winners of its 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards — including the top hotels, resorts, spas, cruise lines and more.

According to Condé Nast Traveler, readers cast more than 757,000 votes in the annual survey.

Only two hotels in the Pacific Northwest made the list. Here’s which ones:

What is the best hotel in Idaho?

The Sparrow in downtown Boise landed at No. 42 on Condé Nast Traveler’s list of the top 50 best hotels in the world.

It was the only Idaho hotel to earn a spot in the publication’s 2025 global hotel ranking.

The Sparrow’s sister hotel in Walla Walla, Washington — The Finch — was No. 38 on Condé Nast Traveler’s list.

Why stay at The Sparrow in downtown Boise?

The Sparrow, 1070 West Grove St. in Boise, aims to “get its guests out of rooms and exploring” local hiking trails, parks, cultural activities and award-winning food and wine options, Condé Nast Traveler said.

“For a healthy dose of Americana, it’s hard to beat the immaculate mid-century motor lodge pastiche at The Sparrow,” the publication said, highlighting “decor rooted in local flavor, from sliding barn doors to regional art depicting notable landmarks like ski haven Bogus Basin or the surreal Bruneau Dunes.”

Amenities including walk-in showers and fluffy bathrobe “provide a fitting spa-like counterpart to the cozy, cabin-esque rooms,” Condé Nast Traveler said.

Rooms at The Sparrow showcase custom works by regional artists, demonstrating the hotel’s commitment to providing a “distinctly Boise feel,” the hotel said on its website, while its downtown location offers easy access to top-tier local attractions.

You’ll find local coffee in the lobby, food trucks on the patio and monthly brewery partners.

There’s an open-air patio that looks over Grove Street, plus an outdoor wood-burning fireplace, large sitting areas and games for guests.

“The Sparrow was designed to embody the spirit of the local community and environment,” the hotel said on its website. “We want you to feel immersed in the vibe that is Boise …”

“For the adventurous traveler seeking an escape that doesn’t lose pace, The Sparrow is a home base just as chipper and lively as its namesake,” Condé Nast Traveler said.

How much does it cost to stay at The Sparrow?

The Sparrow has a total of 67 guest rooms, with eight room sizes, three suite sizes and an accessible room option.

You can book a room via The Sparrow’s website.

Rates for overnight stays depend on the date and room size, with rooms available for as little as $129 per night in early November.

Downtown Boise hotel launches Golden Guest initiative

The Sparrow is celebrating its national recognition with a yearlong Golden Guest initiative.

Each month, one guest will be selected at random to be the Golden Guest, receiving a surprise in their room at check-in and exclusive perks throughout their stay, according to an email that sister property The Finch sent to former guests.

The Sparrow is part of The Nest family of properties, which includes The Finch; The Lark in Bozeman, Montana, and The Wren in Missoula, Montana. Each is named after a locally significant bird.

All four of The Nest’s properties were recognized in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards, with each property landing in the top five in its respective region.

The Sparrow’s sister hotels will also offer the Golden Guest initiative through the next year.

“We’re beyond grateful for your support. Your votes are the reason we earned these top spots, and we couldn’t be more excited,” The Finch representative said in the email. “From all of us at The Nest, thank you for helping us soar.”
