Boise motorcyclist injured after sliding off Simco Road near Mountain Home

A 52-year-old Boise man was injured after crashing his motorcycle on Simco Road on Sunday morning, according to a news release from the Idaho State Police.

Louis Rauer was headed south on a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle around 11 a.m. Sunday when he failed to negotiate a turn and left the roadway, officials said. The crash occurred near milepost 17.5 and closed the road for about an hour.

Rauer was not wearing a helmet and was taken by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. The extent of his injuries was not made public Sunday afternoon.
