Two-vehicle crash outside Payette leaves one Idaho woman dead, according to ISP

A two-vehicle crash Thursday evening on U.S 95 left one 73-year-old woman dead at the scene, according to Idaho State Police.

The 8 p.m. crash happened near milepost 72, just north of Payette, when Susan Griffin, of Payette, was northbound in a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country minivan.

At the same time, Richard Young, 33, of Council, was southbound on U.S. 95 in a 2020 Peterbilt semi-tractor hauling two trailers full of lumber. The two vehicles collided head-on, and Griffin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Griffin was not wearing a seat belt. Young was not injured, and he was wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation by ISP.
