Boise man killed in weekend skiing accident at Sun Valley Resort

A Boise man died following a weekend skiing accident at Sun Valley Resort, according to resort officials and the Blaine County Coroner’s Office.

Sun Valley spokeswoman Kelli Lusk said Sun Valley Ski Patrol responded to a report of an injured male skier on the Lower River Run shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday. The man, who was identified by the Blaine County Coroner’s Office as Stewart Milus, was transported to the base area of Bald Mountain, where Ketchum Fire Department EMS met the ski patrol. EMS took Milus to St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center.

On Wednesday, the coroner’s office told the Statesman a time of death was not available. A coroner’s report will take up to 60 days, officials said.

Lusk wasn’t able to provide details on the circumstances of Milus’ injury, though Twin Falls television station KMVT reported that Milus’ wife, Laura, said the man “clipped skis with another skier, which ultimately sent him in a different direction where he collided with a snow blowing machine.”
