Boise man killed after walking in front of vehicles on I-84 in Oregon, police say

A Boise man died at the scene of a pedestrian and vehicle crash in Oregon on Saturday after officials say he walked in front of an oncoming vehicle.

Around 7 p.m. Saturday, Kevin Burrows-Ellenberg, 32, of Boise, reportedly walked off the westbound shoulder of Interstate 84 near Cascade Locks, Oregon, in front of a Subaru driven by 32-year-old Meghan Moorhead, from Portland. In a news release, officials with Oregon State Police said Burrows-Ellenberg walked into the car’s path “for unknown reasons.”

After he was hit by the Subaru, the Boise man’s body was in the left lane of the interstate in the path of a Toyota 4Runner driven by 46-year-old Solomon Jacobsen, of Rufus, Oregon. Burrows-Ellenberg was also hit by the Toyota.

Burrows-Ellenberg was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Both drivers are cooperating with an investigation.

Police did not indicate why Burrows-Ellenberg might have been on the shoulder of the interstate.
