Victim in deadly Meridian vehicle crash identified as 19-year-old
A 19-year-old killed in a two-vehicle accident last Friday in Meridian has been identified.
The vehicle of Maleeka Alazae Yancey, of Middleton, collided with a truck just before 12:30 p.m. in the intersection of Star Road and Joplin Road, according to a release from the Ada County Coroner’s Office. Yancey died of blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at 2:27 p.m.
According to tweets from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, the truck was heading eastbound and Yancey’s car was headed southbound.
Yancey’s death is being ruled an accident, the release said.
