The 16-year-old boy who drowned in the Boise River on July 30 has been identified as Rigoberto Alvarenca-Coello.
Dive teams recovered the body of the boy on July 31 after he disappeared into the waters of the Boise River, near Star Road, on July 29. The Ada County coroner determined he accidentally drowned.
The teen’s friends searched for several hours before calling for help, according to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
The body of the teen was recovered by crews the day after he disappeared, about 30 feet from the shore.
