4 dogs, 1 cat were found dead in Elmore County. Authorities aren’t sure why.
A total of four dogs and a cat were found dead within about 1/4 mile of each other Monday afternoon, according to the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office.
The cause of death for the animals is undetermined, authorities said.
At approximately 12:26 p.m., deputies responded to reports of dead dogs in the area of the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way, about 2 1/2 miles east of Mountain Home. The two dogs were found and eventually identified by their owner.
At 6:45 p.m., another two dogs were found 1/4 miles east of where the first two were found. A cat was also found near the dogs, though authorities say they aren’t sure if there is a relation in the incidents.
The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information, contact the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office at 208-587-3370.
