A man was brought to the West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell on Friday morning after sustaining a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office said dispatch received a call from hospital staff at 6:30 a.m. and learned the victim had been transported to the hospital by a third party. The individual who transported the gunshot victim did not stay at the hospital and has not been identified or located yet, the sheriff’s office said. Authorities are still seeking this person for information.
The Caldwell Police Department’s preliminary investigation has determined the initial incident may have occurred at a residence near Fish Road outside of Wilder. How the man sustained the gunshot wound is not yet known, the sheriff’s office said.
The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office is now the main investigating agency.
