A Boise woman has been charged with felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, grand theft, fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and introducing contraband into a correctional facility jail after leading officers on a car chase Monday that yielded methamphetamine, marijuana and cocaine.

Choleigh Jones, 26, is being held in the Ada County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

At around 8:30 p.m. Monday, officers said they spotted a 2003 Volkswagen with stolen license plates at the intersection of Overland Road and South Vinnell Way. Officers said they tried pulling the car over in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant, but Jones, the driver, fled, causing the chase.

Officers said they were forced to collide with Jones’ vehicle at the Interstate 84’s Cole Road on-ramp, according to police. As officers approached the car, Jones threw a bag containing 20 grams of methamphetamine out the window, according to police. When taken into jail, officers said they also found cocaine, marijuana and additional methamphetamine concealed in plastic bags in her clothes. A pipe, scale and packaging were also discovered in the vehicle, according to police.

Jones’ preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 5.
