A Nampa man was struck by a vehicle and killed early Wednesday while walking in the lane of travel, according to Idaho State Police.

Michael E. Marchant, 51, died of injuries at the scene.

Police said Marchant was walking in the roadway near 2nd Street South and Chicago Street in Nampa shortly before 12:30 a.m. when he was struck by 18-year-old Brian Navarette, of Caldwell, who was traveling eastbound on 2nd Street South.

ISP continues to investigate the crash.
