A Nampa man was sentenced to up to 30 years in prison for a trio of felonies, including a pair of underage sex crimes, the Canyon County Prosecutor’s Office announced Tuesday.
Alfred Carpentier II, 39, will serve eight years fixed on a charge of lewd conduct with a child under 16 and an additional 22 years indeterminate. He will also serve a pair of concurrent sentences for sexual abuse of a minor under 16 and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, marijuana).
Carpentier was arrested in October 2016 by Nampa police after an investigation determined he sexually abused a 9-year-old in June 2016. Carpentier was an acquaintance of the victim’s family, police said, and asked the victim to inappropriately touch herself and him. He then pulled her pants down and touched her genitalia.
The possession-of-a-controlled-substance count is from May 2017 when he was out on pre-trial release.

Prosecutors argued that Carpentier was at a high risk to reoffend and that he had faced similar allegations for more than 20 years.
