Boise woman struck by pickup, killed while crossing Eagle Road early Saturday

A 24-year-old Boise woman was struck by a pickup truck and killed while she crossed Eagle Road early Saturday morning, according to an Ada County Sheriff’s Office press release.

The woman, who has not yet been identified, was walking “in or near” the crosswalk at Eagle Road and Riverside Drive around 12:15 a.m. Saturday when a 42-year-old Eagle man driving a truck struck her.

The man stayed on scene and called 911 while a passerby attempted first aid. Paramedics transported the woman to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said it was unclear if the traffic signal was green at the time of the accident or if the woman had activated the crosswalk signal. It wasn’t immediately known which direction she was walking.

No charges had been filed as of Sunday morning. Ada County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
