Wondering what the old Macy’s building looks like inside now? Take a video tour
The renovated Bon Marche/Macy’s building at 10th and Idaho Streets in Downtown Boise will officially open as Athlos Academies in ceremonies at the 90-year-structure at 11 a.m. Friday. Boise Mayor Dave Bieter is the guest speaker.
The renovated space, which was also once C.C. Anderson’s Golden Rule store, includes benches and sign posts taken from old beams that once held up the building. Escalators, which once carried shoppers to the mezzanine, have been replaced with a wide flowing staircase.
Athlos provides curriculum and other support to about 30 charter schools throughout the country. Athlos employs nearly 50 people.
