Motorcyclist dead after collision with pickup truck near southeast Boise

A motorcyclist has died after a Monday evening collision with a pickup truck in southeast Boise, according to a Boise Police Department press release.

Police said the man, who has not been identified, died in the hospital from injuries sustained in the crash. The accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Monday near Warm Springs Avenue and Starcrest Drive.

Early evidence suggests that the motorcyclist was driving westbound on Warm Springs when he crossed the center line, colliding head-on with the pickup truck.

The man was hospitalized following the crash and later pronounced dead, police said. It wasn’t immediately clear when he died.

The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured in the crash. He wore a seat belt at the time of the accident; the motorcyclist wore a helmet.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office will identify the man following notification of next of kin.
